Who should place a dental implant — a dentist or an oral surgeon?
Any licensed dentist can legally place implants in Nevada, but training varies enormously. Oral surgeons and periodontists complete multi-year surgical residencies and handle complex cases (bone loss, grafting, full-arch). Many general dentists place straightforward single implants competently, often at lower cost. A common arrangement is a surgeon placing the implant and your general dentist making the crown. Ask any provider how many implants they place per year and who handles complications.
Does insurance cover dental implants in Nevada?
